Dr. Irmiter, the Parent
Coach, is a dynamic, energetic, and entertaining speaker.
He has presented to professional organizations, to Civic groups,
at school programs, and for family groups. The Coach will
always tailor his presentation to meet the needs of your group or
organization. His expertise ranges from general parenting concerns
and serious teenage behavioral problems, to issues related
to blended families (stepfamilies) and the dynamics associated
with alcoholism and the family (Adult Children of Alcoholics,
ACOA; Children of Alcoholics, COA).

- Interagency Staffing: An Innovative
Approach for Preparing for Juvenile Court; created and presented
a training seminar for targeted pilot counties in South Carolina;
the objective was to foster cooperation between multiple State
agencies with whom juveniles and their families regularly
come in contact; day-long seminar, Columbia, SC
- Training Seminar for SCDJJ Probation
Officers: Conducted an all day seminar to aid Probation Officers
in working with juvenile offenders; explained techniques for
interviewing juveniles and families, with an emphasis on obtaining
significant family history; provided simple guidelines for
using Psychological Evaluations, Pickens, SC
- Parenting Today's Youth: St. Anne School
PTO, Rock Hill, SC; provided information relevant to raising
confident, independent, and respectful children; emphasized
methods for establishing structure, choice, and solid supervision
in the parenting process.
- Family Systems and The 12 Step Program:
Seminar presented to staff members of inpatient substance
abuse unit in VA Medical Center, Augusta, GA; emphasized integrating
patient's family members into the treatment and recovery process
- Family Crisis Intervention: Presented
a seminar on crisis assessment and intervention to Social
Workers at the Medical College of Georgia, Athens, GA
- Parenting: Issues, Techniques, and Discipline;
Presented to Action, Inc. (A Transition Demonstration Project)
Athens, GA; Instructed Parents and Parent Aides in various
methods of effective parenting and maintaining discipline
in the Head Start Program and at home.
